Saturday, February 4 2006, 2:00pm - 5:00pm
by victoria ashley

LET'S GET A MILLION VOTES FOR PEACE IN CALIFORNIA !!!

MEET GREEN CANDIDATE FOR U.S. SENATE,
TODD CHRETIEN,
IN FREMONT ON SATURDAY, FEB. 4

Todd Chretien, co-author of a successful San Francisco
ballot measure calling for removal of military recruiters
from the schools in San Francisco, said his campaign against
Sen. Dianne Feinstein will collect A Million Votes for Peace
because "enough is enough. It is time to bring all of our
troops home from Iraq now."

4420 RICHMOND AVE., FREMONT

Directions:

WHY SUPPORT TODD FOR SENATE ON THE GREEN PARTY SLATE?

2,200 American soldiers and 100,000 Iraqis have died.  The
Big Five Oil companies' profits, along with gas prices at
the pump, are through the roof. Military spending has
grown to over $500 BILLION per year.

Neither Bush's children nor the Congressional leadership's
children are in Iraq.  "If elected, my first action as a US
Senator will be to introduce a motion calling to bring the
troops home now."

THE WAR AT HOME

The national treasure is being squandered on the war in
Iraq.  Ordinary working Americans are paying the price
at home.  Real wages are falling. The health care crisis
worsens every year.  Our schools are under-funded.

Our unions are under attack.  Global warming is threatening
the whole planet.  Two-million of our people are in prisons
(who are disproportionately poor and people of color).

The disaster in New Orleans exposed our collapsing
infrastructure. Our leaders' response to Katrina exposed
their racism and contempt for the poor.

"If elected, my second action as a US Senator will be to
introduce a motion calling for dramatic reduction in
military spending in order to finance a radical
reconstruction plan, both for New Orleans and for our
public schools and hospitals."

SENATOR DIANNE FEINSTEIN

She voted to send our young people to Iraq.  Even as 60% of
the American people now want to bring our troops home, Sen.
Feinstein insists they must stay there.  She voted for the
USA PATRIOT Act, which shreds the Bill of Rights. She voted
for the so-called "No child Left Behind" law, which is
weaking our public schools.

She asked George Bush to invoke the anti-labor Taft-Hartley
law against the ILWU dockworkers union.  She supports the
death penalty, which VERY disproportionately kills people of
color and the poor.

She supports the mass incarceration of young people.  She
sponsors legislation that scapegoats immigrant workers.  She
gives George Bush standing ovations at his State of the
Union speeches.  She is a multi-millionaire who does not
represent the majority of the people of California.

"If elected, I will represent the majority of people of
California's opposition to George Bush, not collaborate with
him."
